Whilst 2020 has proved challenging due to COVID-19 and impacted many industries across the world, there is at least positive news for the golfing industry.

Thanks to golf’s ability to be participated in, without too much change, with social distancing measures in place – golf is on the up!

A number of sports marketing surveys were presented by the Sports & Leisure Research Group at the PGA of America’s virtual summit. The consensus of those, being that the appetite for golf has grown, due to it being able to be played in a safe environment and without close contact to others.

Golf has indeed needed to make a lot of adjustments to conform to social distancing, but it appears that participation is increasing in our wonderful game.

Thanks to it’s non-contact element, golf has also enjoyed being one of the few sports to make a return to live TV. Whilst fans are unable to attend events at the likes of the PGA, European and LPGA Tours, a number of events have been able to take place to give us our fix of live sporting action!

Stay safe and play well!
